Bible Study

The word of God is to your soul as water is to your body. It is life! Reading the Bible is important because it instills you with the Holy Spirit. Through the Word, you find peace of mind, hope, healing, and joy. When the Holy Spirit is instilled inside of you, fear, and anxiety fade to the background; rarely resurfacing and easily pushed away when it does. Reading the Bible strengthens your faith, teaches you mercy & forgiveness, and fills you with the love & peace that only God can provide. All you must do to experience this is to immerse your spirit into the word of God. Make it a priority in your life to read and study the Bible.

God should be first in your life and your eternal soul deserves more of your time.

Encounter The 3D Bible Book By Dr. Susan Michael

Learn A New Way To Study Your Bible

Dr. Susan Michael brings the Bible to life in her book and study guide titled "Encounter The 3D Bible". She notes ways to better understand what you are reading and how to get more out of your time in God's Word. She explains the 3 primary ways to do a Bible Study: 1: At an Inspirational Level (the perspective most people study from and most pastors follow for church sermons). 2: At the typical Bible Study Level (the study of theology and doctrine). 3: At the "3D" Level (understanding historical context, geographical context, cultural context, the audience being spoken to, literary context, and more). Dive into this Bible Study with us by reading our posts below.

No matter how many times we’ve read a familiar passage, the Holy Spirit has a way of revealing deeper truths when we approach Scripture with humble hearts and a willingness to learn. As I work through “Encounter the 3D Bible”, I’m using many of the study principles Dr. Susan Michael introduces—such as

Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” – Hebrews 4:12 Study Tip: I don’t know about you, but I’m an underliner. I like to underline the words of any book I read with the intent to learn (vs. not doing it when I read for entertainment). I like to keep my instructional books to go back and reference, where my underlining

My Perspective Did. “Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.” — Acts 17:11 (ESV) Study Tip: One of the biggest takeaways from today’s study is realizing that learning to read the Bible this way (in 3D) deepens my faith. It’s much easier to understand an individual passage when you know where it fits within God’s larger story. How Do I Submit A Prayer Request?

It is important to note that Koutz Farm is owned and operated by a Christian-faith, mostly conservative American family.  Although they value diversity and do not force their beliefs on others, they expect that others will respect their rights to celebrate and observe their Christian-faith based holidays and express their patriotism to their country in any manner they see fit.  This means that we may use terms like “Christmas” as opposed to saying “Holiday”.  We may use phrases like “God Bless You And Your Family” or other such similar terms.  We may also honor our U.S. soldiers to thank them for their services.  Please do not construe this as disrespect to you and/or your religion or beliefs.  This is our way to say we care enough to wish you good blessings and happy holidays in our own fashion and is not intended to be offensive.  We choose to stick to our faith, knowing in our hearts that our ancestors would not be proud of us if we did it any other way.  We respect your right to believe as you see fit and fully expect you to do the same for us.  By using this site, you agree that it is okay for us to use Christian-faith based terms and that you acknowledge that we celebrate Christian-faith based holidays as well as support our country and troops.  We will not be held legally liable for practicing our Constitutional Rights and doing what we believe is right.  If you do not agree with this, please do not use our site.  Continued use of this website and all associated pages signifies that you are in complete acceptance of this policy.

A Note About Our Values

Before you spend time exploring Koutz Farm, we want to share a little about who we are.

We are a Christian family who loves God, loves our neighbors, and strives to live our lives according to biblical principles. Our faith is woven into many parts of this website because it is woven into every part of our lives. You’ll find Bible studies, prayers, stories of God’s faithfulness, and, yes, you’ll probably see us wishing you a Merry Christmas instead of “Happy Holidays.”

We also deeply believe that every person has been created with inherent worth and dignity. While we may not always agree on faith, politics, or other topics, we respect every individual’s right to their own beliefs, opinions, and freedom to worship—or not worship—as they choose. Our hope is never to pressure or argue with anyone, but simply to share our journey and the hope we’ve found in Christ. If you ever find yourself going through a difficult season, know that we’ll gladly pray for you, whether you share our beliefs or not. We sincerely believe prayer changes lives.

You’ll also notice that we’re proud Americans and proud Texans. We love this country, appreciate the freedoms we’ve been blessed with, and are grateful for the men and women who have served to protect them. We believe it’s possible to love our country while also recognizing that no nation, institution, or political party is perfect. We don’t align ourselves blindly with any political party or ideology, and we believe healthy conversations are more productive than division and name-calling.

From time to time, we’ll discuss current events, history, government, preparedness, stewardship, homesteading, conservation, and topics that encourage people to think critically and do their own research. We don’t expect everyone to agree with our perspectives, and that’s okay. Respectful disagreement is part of living in a free society.

At the end of the day, Koutz Farm exists to share our life, our lessons, our successes and failures, our love for the outdoors, our passion for homesteading, and our faith in Jesus Christ. We hope you’ll find something here that encourages you, teaches you something new, or simply reminds you to slow down and enjoy the blessings that surround us.

Whether your visit is brief or you become part of our community, we’re grateful you’re here. Welcome to Koutz Farm.
